GREEN BAY – Green Bay Packers training camp will begin July 27, with the annual Family Night event following on Aug. 5.

The Packers said Wednesday that Family Night will be at 7 p.m. Aug. 5, a Friday, and Packers coach Matt LaFleur said earlier this week that training camp would begin July 27, a Wednesday, although the team has not released details, such as about public practices.

Those two dates put into place the last pieces of a packed preseason, which will begin with a professional soccer game at Lambeau Field on July 23, followed by the team's annual shareholders meeting on July 25, training camp, Family Night, and, on Aug. 12, the first preseason game.

Family Night is a full-blown Packers practice. It allows the team to practice on Lambeau Field with a game-like atmosphere: crowds cheering, gameday music, scoreboards in use and the like. Fireworks will end the event.
