Combat veterans support group starts

Green Bay Press Gazette

STURGEON BAY - A free and professionally facilitated support group for combat veterans is forming at Jak's Place, a mental health resource center, which is a program of the Lakeshore CAP, Inc.

The support group will be led by a member of the Green Bay Vet Center to assist combat veterans having trouble adjusting to civilian life, according to a news release from Jak's Place.

"Almost all service members have reactions after returning from war, some within months and others within years," the release said. "All are welcome. With the company of other veterans you can share some of the same experiences in a safe and confidential setting."

The Combat Veterans Support Group will meet from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. Tuesday from June 13 through Aug. 15 at Jak's place in the new location at 1623 Rhode Island St., Sturgeon Bay.  Personal reservations and a brief assessment are required before joining the group. Call Jak’s Place at 920-818-0525 to make an appointment.
