NEW ORLEANS — Former NFL star Darren Sharper pleaded guilty to charges related to the drugging and raping of women in federal court Tuesday.

Sharper's latest plea likely means he will face a longer sentence than the nine years it appeared he would serve after a 'global plea deal' was reached with several jurisdictions more than a year ago.

Sharper can be sentenced up to 20 years, but that will be dependent on a pre-sentence report and cooperation against a couple of other defendants in some of the cases.
