Highest paid wide receivers in NFL: Ranking WRs by salary for 2020 season

Here's a look at the highest paid wide receivers in the league for the 2020 NFL season, based on current contracts.

The wide receiver position has become more important in the NFL over the past few years.

It shows in how much the best players at the position are being paid.

45 NFL wide receivers now make at least $5 million in average salary per year per, a site that tracks NFL player contracts (through Sept. 12, 2020).

25 of those make at least $10 million.

WHAT CHANGED?:NFL's highest paid wide receivers in 2019

The highest paid receiver in the NFL is the Atlanta Falcons' Julio Jones. He makes $22 million per season.

He is now followed by the Los Angeles Chargers' Keenan Allen, who has agreed to a four year extension worth more than $80 million.

Allen had previously been 18th on the list with an average annual salary of $11.25 million. Allen's new average annual salary will be at just above $20 million.

Allen is followed by the Dallas Cowboys' Amari Cooper at $20 million and the New Orleans Saints' Michael Thomas at $19.3 million.

The Arizona Cardinals' DeAndre Hopkins is fifth with an average annual salary of $18.8 million, according to reports.

Hopkins signed a 2-year contract extension with a reported $54.5 million in new money or $27.25 million per year on Tuesday.

Hopkins served as his own agent in striking a new deal with the Cardinals on Tuesday that will make him the highest paid non-quarterback ever, according to reports.
