Here's a look at the highest paid cornerbacks in the league for the 2020 NFL season, based on current contracts.

The very best NFL cornerbacks can sometimes shut down an opposing team's top wide receiver, or really limit their production.

That has become very valuable in today's NFL.

It shows in how much the top cornerbacks in the league are making.

WHAT CHANGED?: NFL's highest paid cornerbacks in 2019

18 cornerbacks now make at least $10 million in average annual salary per year, per, a site that tracks NFL player contracts (through Sept. 9, 2020).

The highest paid cornerback in the NFL is now the Los Angeles Rams' Jalen Ramsey, who has agreed to terms on a massive extension that pays him $21 million per season.

The Buffalo Bills' Tre'Davious White is second, with an average annual salary of $17.5 million.

The Philadelphia Eagles' Darius Slay is third. He makes $16.7 million per season.

Dolphins cornerback Byron Jones fourth at 16.5 million, while his teammate, Xavien Howard, is fifth at $15.1 million per season.
