Ben Rolfe writes: "This game is hard to judge. The rest disparity should suit the Panthers, who will be eyeing an opportunity to complete the Texas two-step in Week 4. Carolina’s offense needs to find a way to succeed without Christian McCaffrey if the team is to keep winning."

Sportsnaut: Cowboys 24, Panthers 20

Andrew Buller-Russ writes: "Talk about a matchup between two extremes. Dallas’ offense has an ability to dominate on a consistent basis. Meanwhile, the Panthers’ defense has given up a total of 30 points during their 3-0 start to the season. Not having Christian McCaffrey due to his hamstring injury could set the Panther offense back. In what should be a close game, we’ll go with the home team."

With this game sandwiched between two divisional games and a sneakily high-powered Panthers offense coming to town, this will be another slow start that ends in a too-close-for-comfort finish."

Sam Darnold lost his safety blanket and it took the team more than a quarter to get back on track against the Houston Texans. Going into the matchup with the Cowboys, the Panthers lost their best player. The Cowboys' offense has been electric under Dak Prescott and even though the Panthers' defense is stout, the Cowboys can hurt you from many different areas. It will be interesting to see how much the loss of rookie cornerback Jaycee Horn impacts the Panthers’ defense. Cowboys should still be able to cover in this one."
