NFL's highest paid players in 2022: Kyler Murray climbs list ranking players by salary

44 NFL players now make at least $20 million a season in average annual salary, according to overthecap.com, a site that tracks NFL player contracts (through July 21, 2022).

The highest paid player in the league is Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers at $50.3 million per season in average annual salary.

The second highest paid player in the league is Arizona Cardinals QB Kyler Murray, who reportedly makes $46.1 million per season after reaching an extension.

The third highest paid player in the league is Cleveland Browns QB Deshaun Watson, who makes $46 million per season.

Kansas City Chiefs QB Patrick Mahomes, who makes $45 million per season, is fourth, followed by Buffalo Bulls quarterback Josh Allen at $43 million.

Quarterbacks dominate the list of the NFL's highest paid players for 2022, accounting for 16 of the 44 NFL players who make at least $20 million per season (and the quarterbacks on this list all make at least $25 million per season).
