Cincinnati Bengals notebook: Team claims linebacker Joe Bachie off waivers

The Cincinnati Bengals added to their linebacker room Wednesday. 

Linebacker Joe Bachie was acquired off waivers, the Bengals announced on Wednesday, after he was let go by the Philadelphia Eagles on Tuesday. 

The second-year linebacker was a 2020 undrafted free agent out of Michigan State and spent the majority of his rookie season on the New Orleans Saints’ practice squad before signing with the Philadelphia Eagles on Dec. 7.

Bachie has two tackles in four career games. 

In Cincinnati, he'll try to earn a spot on the 53-man roster.

Training camp: The Bengals and 29 other NFL teams are expected to report to training camp on July 27, per NFL Media. The Dallas Cowboys and Pittsburgh Steelers can report to training camp as early as July 21 because of this year's Hall of Fame game. 

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are permitted to report to camp on July 24 because of their Week 1 Thursday night opener versus the Cowboys.
