NFL Top 100 player rankings: Arizona Cardinals' Kyler Murray, Budda Baker make debuts
Two Arizona Cardinals players have made their debuts in the NFL Network's annual list of the Top 100 players in the NFL.
Safety Budda Baker was unveiled at No. 97.
Quarterback Kyler Murray was No 90.
The NFL Network unveiled Nos. 100-71 on Sunday night and will continue unveiling its list through Wednesday.
Murray, who passed for 3,722 yards and 20 touchdown and rushed for 544 yards as a rookie last season, was praised by several NFL players during the program, with the highest praise coming from New Orleans Saints star defensive end Cameron Jordan.
“The next Russell Wilson,” Jordan said of Murray. “He’s a pure baller.”
Corey Peters of the Cardinals said: “He’s dynamic. He’s got a live arm and can make all the throws.”
Baker led all safeties in the league in tackles and led the NFL with 104 solo tackles last season.
“He’s just all over the place,” San Francisco 49ers fullback Kyle Juszczyk said of Baker on the program. “Budda is just extremely instinctual, very quick twitch. He’s not scared to be physical. He gets down there and he’ll stick his nose in places most safeties wouldn’t. I think is’ one of the better tackling safeties in the game.”
Former Cardinals defensive end Calais Campbell, now with the Baltimore Ravens, came in at No. 79 in the rankings on Sunday.
NFL players vote on the Top 100 list for the NFL Network each season.
Last season, Cardinals cornerback Patrick Peterson was No. 46 on the list and wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald was No. 60, the only Arizona players to make the list.
Cardinals defensive end Chandler Jones was surprisingly left off the rankings last year, but is expected to make the list this year after his monster season in 2019.
