The Arizona Cardinals' signing of J.J. Watt appears to have opened up the floodgates of speculation surrounding the team.

Get ready for more talk of potential free agents, NFL draft picks, and trades involving the team.

One of the latest suggestions for a big-time player for the Cardinals to add?

Cleveland Browns wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.

Fox Sports' Brandon Marshall, the former NFL wide receiver, said this about Beckham on FS1's First Things First show on Thursday:

"Where is he rehabbing right now?," Marshall said. "Phoenix, Arizona.

"Uh, yeah, he's going to be on the Cardinals. I know yesterday I talked about the Green Bay Packers, but I am looking at this and I am like J.J. Watt just goes there. He's out there in Arizona falling in love with the weather that J.J. Watt is talking about. You've got Kyler. You've got big dog D-Hop (DeAndre Hopkins) on the other side. Why wouldn't you get this done? So, I am going to double down on the Arizona Cardinals. It makes sense."

While there is no denying Beckham's talent, there are a lot of reasons why this potentially doesn't get done for the Cardinals.

Beckham is under contract in Cleveland.

Would Cleveland even be interested in trading him?

If so, what would the Cardinals have to give up to trade for him?

Would they be able to afford Beckham's contract? (He is one of the highest paid wide receivers in the league).

Would Beckham be happy sharing the spotlight in Arizona with Hopkins?

Beckham's rehab is reportedly going well, but will he be the same player he was before his season-ending injury last year?

This isn't the first time that a big-time wide receiver has been linked to the Cardinals this offseason.

Bleacher Report recently proposed a deal that had the Cardinals trading its first-round pick in 2021 (No. 16), as well as its fifth-round selection (No. 144) and a third-round pick in 2022 for Chicago Bears' standout Allen Robinson.

The Arizona Republic's Bob McManaman wrote about the difficulties in landing Robinson last month and it could certainly be applied to Beckham or other big-name receivers.

He wrote: "Robinson’s projected market value — four years, $80 million — is likely wildly out of range for the Cardinals, who presently have $13.5 million available in cap space available under the expected $180.5 million 2021 salary cap. Arizona also has 27 players set to become free agents when the NFL’s new league year begins on March 17, which signals the start of free agency.

"And it’s not as if the Cardinals don’t have pressing needs elsewhere. They have gaping holes at cornerback, could use some help on the interior of their offensive line, must address their pass rush and pay for a pass-catching tight end.

"With the cap projected to be slashed by nearly $20 million this year because of revenue loss stemming from the absence of fans during the COVID-19 pandemic, that’s going to present some awfully unique challenges for General Manager Steve Keim."
