Adams, Burnett inactive vs. 49ers

The Green Bay Packers were without two starters on Sunday after placing wide receiver Davante Adams and safety Morgan Burnett on the inactive list for their game against the San Francisco 49ers at Levi's Stadium in Santa Clara, Calif.
Adams (sprained ankle) and Burnett (calf strain) had been downgraded to doubtful from questionable on Saturday after not participating in practices last week.
James Jones will start in place of Adams and Micah Hyde again will step in for Burnett.
The Packers signed wide receiver Jared Abbrederis to their 53-man roster from the practice squad, and the second-year pro out of Wisconsin was active for Sunday’s game.
Also inactive for the Packers were quarterback Brett Hundley, cornerback Demetri Goodson, linebacker Jake Ryan, guard Lane Taylor and injured right tackle Bryan Bulaga.
Adams sprained his ankle in the second game against the Seattle Seahawks. He started against the Kansas City Chiefs on Monday night but aggravated the injury while trying to catch a pass on the game’s first series and did not return. Asked about the ankle on Friday, Adams told Press-Gazette Media, “It’s just hurting. We’re just trying to fight through whatever we can so we can get it right.”
Burnett was unable to play in the season opener because of his lingering calf problem. He played against the Seahawks but missed the Chiefs game after aggravating the injury.
The Packers also are without starter Bulaga and backup tight end Andrew Quarless, both because of knee injuries. Starting wide receiver Jordy Nelson was lost for the season after sustaining a torn anterior cruciate ligament during the preseason.
For the 49ers, tight end Vernon Davis was inactive, as were wide receiver DeAndrew White, running back Mike Davis, cornerback Shareece Wright, guard Brandon Thomas, offensive lineman Ian Silberman and nose tackle Mike Purnell.
