The Green Bay Press-Gazette and Packers beat writer Ryan Wood earned Top 10 honors in a contest judged this week by the Associated Press Sports Editors.

Competing in Category C (30,000 to 75,000 circulation/250,000 to 750,000 unique monthly website visitors), the Press-Gazette received Top 10 recognition for its daily sports section, and also for its digital and mobile platforms (greenbaypressgazette.com/sports, PackersNews.com and the PackersNews app).

The Press-Gazette earned Honorable Mention (Top 15) honors for a special section on quarterback Brett Favre’s induction into the Packers Hall of Fame.

Ryan Wood

Wood was honored in the Beat Writing category for a collection of stories that demonstrated authoritative, newsy and innovative coverage. He also won in the Explanatory category for his story analyzing year-to-year data that detailed the success Packers general manager Ted Thompson has enjoyed in the NFL draft.
