1. Ezekiel Elliott, Ohio State. Height: 5-11 3/4. Weight: 225. Class: Junior. Stats: 289 carries, 1,821 yards, 23 touchdowns. 40-yard dash: 4.47. Projection: Round 1.
The consensus top running back in his class, talented enough to be drafted in the top 10 during an age when the position has never been more devalued in the draft.
2. Derrick Henry, Alabama. Height: 6-2 5/8. Weight: 247. Class: Junior. Stats: 395 carries, 2,219 yards, 28 touchdowns. 40-yard dash: 4.54. Projection: Round 1-2.
Any other year, the Heisman Trophy winner’s blend of power and speed would make him the best running back in his class.
3. Kenneth Dixon, Louisiana Tech: Height: 5-10 1/8. Weight: 215. Class: Senior. Stats: 198 carries, 1,073 yards, 19 touchdowns. 40-yard dash: 4.56. Projection: Round 2.
Rare ability to pose a receiving threat out of the backfield might make Dixon the best dual-threat tailback in his class.

4. Devontae Booker, Utah. Height: 5-10 3/4. Weight: 219. Class: Senior. Stats: 268 carries, 1,261 yards, 11 touchdowns. 40-yard dash: 4.56. Projection: Round 2-3.
Senior season ended early with torn meniscus in his knee that required surgery in November, but breaks tackles with a downhill running style when healthy.
5. C.J. Prosise, Notre Dame. Height: 6-0 1/2. Weight: 220. Class: Junior. Stats: 157 carries, 1,029 yards, 11 touchdowns. 40-yard dash: 4.48. Projection: Round 2-3.
Raw and inexperienced as a running back after playing receiver his first two seasons, but transitioned well to the backfield and offers tremendous upside.
6. Kenyan Drake, Alabama. Height: 6-0 5/8. Weight: 210. Class: Senior. Stats: 77 carries, 408 yards, one touchdown. 40-yard dash: 4.45. Projection: Round 2-3.
Injuries plagued his college career, but versatility, speed and power between the tackles make him a dark horse as potential late Day 2 option or early Day 3.
7. Alex Collins, Arkansas. Height: 5-10. Weight: 217. Class: Junior. Stats: 271 carries, 1,577 yards, 20 touchdowns. 40-yard dash: 4.59. Projection: Round 3.
Lacks explosion but was a good fit in Bret Bielema’s pro-style offense, an experience that could help his transition to the NFL.

8. Jordan Howard, Indiana. Height: 5-11 7/8. Weight: 230. Class: Junior. Stats: 196 carries, 1,213 yards, nine touchdowns. 40-yard dash: 4.59. Projection: Round 3-4.
Big and powerful, his running style was nicely tailored to the Big Ten after transferring before last season from the University of Alabama-Birmingham.
9. Paul Perkins, UCLA. Height: 5-10 3/8. Weight: 208. Class: Junior. Stats: 237 carries, 1,343 yards, 14 touchdowns. 40-yard dash: 4.54. Projection: Round 3-4.
In a class full of big tailbacks, quickness and acceleration helps him get through tight openings instead of running over defenders.
10. Kelvin Taylor, Florida. Height: 5-10 1/4. Weight: 207. Class: Junior. Stats: 259 carries, 1,035 yards, 13 touchdowns. 40-yard dash: 4.6. Projection: Round 4.
Carried a moribund Florida offense on his back for much of the season, becoming one of the main reasons the Gators reached the SEC championship game.
