McCarthy: Janis not practicing this week
GREEN BAY - Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jeff Janis, who broke his hand during practice last week, will not be on the field when the team resumes training camp practice Sunday afternoon.
Packers coach Mike McCarthy did not confirm that Janis had broken his hand as reports Saturday indicated, but when asked if Janis would be able to practice immediately with a club on his hand, McCarthy said no.
"He won’t practice this week," McCarthy said. "I really haven’t talked to (team physician Pat) McKenzie as far as the specifics of his timeline and so forth. He will not be available this week."
McCarthy, who typically won't address injuries in his press conferences, was then asked whether WR Jordy Nelson and C Corey Linsley would be removed from PUP and practice today.
"I gave you my one injury answer today," he said.
