Packers quarterback Brett Hundley started for Green Bay in the exhibition game against the Oakland Raiders on Thursday night.

KANSAS CITY, Mo. - In their preseason finale, the Green Bay Packers continued leaning heavily toward preservation.

Twenty Packers players will not dress against the Kansas City Chiefs, a list headed by quarterback Aaron Rodgers. The biggest surprise may be who is dressing: backup quarterback Brett Hundley.

It’s unclear whether Hundley will play, but he’ll be available for the first time since reinjuring his left ankle two weeks ago against the Oakland Raiders. Hundley returned to practice this week, though he was held out of team reps — a sign he will not play.

On the defensive side, perhaps the most notable player available is inside linebacker Jake Ryan. After injuring his hamstring Aug. 1, Ryan has not played in an exhibition this preseason. With Ryan, rookie Blake Martinez and Sam Barrington available, the Packers should get their first real look at a rotation in the center of their defense.

More than half of the 20 players who will not dress are projected 2016 starters. Several returned to practice this week, including safety Morgan Burnett (back).
