Green Bay Packers left tackle David Bakhtiari

GREEN BAY - David Bakhtiari’s new contract extension will pay him $16.7 million in 2016 and $19.676 million over its first two years.

According to a source with access to NFL salary information, the Green Bay Packers’ left tackle received a $15 million signing bonus, a $1 million roster bonus and will make a $700,000 base salary this season.

Bakhtiari’s new contract in effect is a five-year deal worth $49.676 million, or an average of $9.935 million a year. The four new years added onto the final year of his rookie contract are worth $48 million, or an average of $12 million for each of the new years. However, he receives the signing bonus now, so the new contract starts now.
