GREEN BAY  - The Green Bay Packers returned from the bye a significantly more healthy team.

Back on the practice field after missing the Detroit game last week were: OLB Clay Matthews (hamstring), S Morgan Burnett (groin), OLB Datone Jones (knee) and NT Letroy Guion (knee).

Still sidelined are CB Sam Shields (concussion) and TE Jared Cook (ankle). Shields may return to practice this week, but Cook's absence could be lengthy after suffering a high-ankle sprain against the Lions.

One other injury development was that WR Jeff Janis was no longer wearing a club on his right hand. Janis broke the hand in training camp and had played the first three games with a soft, protective wrap around it. Janis had been limited to special teams play with the club, but was back to catching passes in practice.

Coach Mike McCarthy held a short practice outdoors at Clarke Hinkle Field on Monday on the team's first day back from a bye. The players are off on Tuesday and will return Wednesday to start preparations for the New York Giants game Sunday night at Lambeau Field.
