Welcome to your Morning Buzz, rounding up news and views regarding the Green Bay Packers from around the web and here at PackersNews.com. Grab a strong cup of coffee and get caught up on everything you need to know about the Packers.

First up, do not miss Bob McGinn’s scouting report on the Dallas Cowboys. As usual, Bob has tons of great insider information from personnel people around the league, as well as his expert analysis of the Packers’ upcoming opponent.

As Bob writes:

Perhaps the hottest name in the NFL is Dak Prescott, the rookie quarterback who took over for injured Tony Romo in late August after the veteran suffered a compression fracture in his back.

Prescott, a fourth-round draft choice from Mississippi State, is off to one of the greatest starts ever by a rookie quarterback. His passer rating of 107.4 ranks third in the NFL, and he has rushed 19 times for 61 yards and three touchdowns.

In their weekly tape study, Eric Baranczyk and Pete Dougherty highlight the play of the Packers’ young secondary, focusing on LaDarius Gunter specifically.

Gunter matched up with Beckham regularly on the night, and the explosive receiver beat him for a 16-yard gain early in the second quarter that was called back because of a holding penalty. Beckham also had Gunter beat on a corner route that Manning overthrew a few plays later. But that was it.

And Gunter wasn’t alone. Second-year pro Quinten Rollins (two pass breakups) held up well starting opposite Gunter, as did Micah Hyde (one pass breakup, one sack), who was promoted to the nickel position because of the injuries.

Be sure to watch Tom Silverstein and LeRoy Butler’s weekly video series.

True to Mike McCarthy’s word on Monday, the Packers did not work out any punters this week. Jacob Schum is safe. For now.

Ben Fennell highlighted the play of the Packers’ defensive front in his weekly tape breakdown.

The local Dallas media has taken note of Aaron Rodgers’ poor play of late.

Brad Allen will be the referee when the Packers and Cowboys face off on Sunday.

CBS Sports’ Pete Prisco writes that the Packers' run defense is the first real test for rookie Ezekiel Elliott and the Cowboys’ running game.

The Cowboys’ defense is one of NFL Network’s underappreciated storylines.

Aaron Rodgers made a surprise appearance Tuesday on "Ellen."
