The Green Bay Packers rose one spot in the latest USA TODAY Sports NFL Power Rankings. The Packers are getting ready to face off against the Atlanta Falcons, who fell three spots after losing in overtime to the San Diego Chargers. The Falcons are at No. 7 while the Packers are at No. 6.

USA TODAY's blurb about the Packers:

It's a treat to watch Aaron Rodgers, who had a career-best 39 completions last week and may not have a pitch count for rest of season.

And the rankings said this about the Falcons:

So did Dan Quinn's gutsy (failed) gamble show overconfidence in league's No. 1 offense or lack of confidence in Atlanta's shaky D?

Elsewhere in the division, the Minnesota Vikings fell three spots after laying an egg against the Philadelphia Eagles. The Vikings check in at No. 5.

The Detroit Lions jumped up for the third week in a row, this time rising four spots to land at No. 9 after beating Washington with a last-minute touchdown drive.

Meanwhile, the Chicago Bears continue their campaign to be crowned the worst team in the league while they hover around the bottom of the power rankings each week. They check in at No. 30 for Week 8.
