Packers inactives: All three QBs active
CHICAGO - The Green Bay Packers will go into a game with three active quarterbacks for the first time this season.
The team signed practice squad QB Joe Callahan to the 53-man roster Saturday, giving them another option behind starter Aaron Rodgers and backup Brett Hundley. The move was precautionary, but is directly related to the calf injury that Rodgers suffered last week and will be dealing with at Soldier Field today.
Rodgers will start, but coach Mike McCarthy doesn't want a scenario where Rodgers aggravates his injury, Hundley gets hurt and then he's left without a quarterback.
In order to make room for Callahan, the Packers cut ILB Carl Bradford.
The only big change with the inactives this week is the return of ILB Blake Martinez from a knee injury.
Here are the Packers' inactives:
- WR Trevor Davis
- CB Josh Hawkins
- RB James Starks
- LB Nick Perry
- LB Jordan Tripp
- T Kyle Murphy
- C/G JC Tretter
Ty Montgomery will start for Starks and Julius Peppers will start for Perry.
The Bears will be without three starters today: NT Eddie Goldman, WR Eddie Royal and CB Bryce Callahan.
