Packers inactives: Randall Cobb out
GREEN BAY - A week ago, the Green Bay Packers tried to get something out of WR Randall Cobb despite a sore ankle.
After he failed to make a catch against Chicago, the Packers decided this week to make him inactive.
Cobb was the only surprise on the Packers' inactive list, although OLB Nick Perry (hand) was active for the first time since getting hurt against Houston three weeks ago.
Perry will play with a club on his hand and the Packers will try to get as much out of him as possible.
In the case of Cobb, the Packers have several options to make up for his absence. Last week, tight end Jared Cook received considerably more snaps and was a bigger pat of the offense. In addition, the Packers have the option of using RB Ty Montgomery as a WR.
Here are the Packers' inactives:
- QB Joe Callahan
- WR Randall Cobb
- CB Josh Hawkins
- RB James Starks
- T Kyle Murphy
- C/G JC Tretter
- LB Jayrone Elliott
For the Vikings, S Harrison Smith (ankle) and WR Stefon Diggs (hip) are active.
As expected, RB Adrian Peterson (groin/foot) is not.
Here are the Vikings' inactives:
- QB Tayler Heinicke
- WR LaQuon Treadwell
- RB Adrian Peterson
- FB Zach Line
- G Brandon Fusco
- G Willie Beavers
- DE Stephen Weatherly
