Welcome to your Morning Buzz, rounding up news and views regarding the Green Bay Packers from around the web and here at PackersNews.com. Grab a strong cup of coffee and get caught up on everything you need to know about the Packers.

We’ll start with Bob McGinn’s Rating the Packers column. As one might guess, it isn’t pretty.

From Bob:

The Green Bay Packers picked a terrible time to play one of their two poorest games of the season.

Talk about going out with a whimper. In an abominable performance, the Packers were crushed Sunday in the NFC Championship Game by the Atlanta Falcons, 44-21. It was the final game at the Georgia Dome.

By the fourth quarter, the Packers had throttled down. The Falcons’ final touchdown, a 3-yard run outside a crash call inside, showed players with little interest in pursuit or getting off blocks.

There was little or no fight left in the Packers. In some ways, they looked like a team that had just given up.

Eric Baranczyk and Pete Dougherty’s final film study column of the season is no less damning, throwing a spotlight on the lack of pressure from Dom Capers’ defense against the Falcons.

The Packers had chances to make plays on defense against Matt Ryan and the Falcons, but just couldn’t close the deal. Michael Cohen and Lori Nickel write on the multiple dropped interceptions that plagued the Packers to lead off their notebook.

Lori also writes on Micah Hyde and how the soon-to-be free agent is trying not to dwell on his uncertain future with the team.

Ty Montgomery hosted his last Clubhouse Live show of the year in Appleton on Monday night.
