Senior Bowl Week wrap-up
Ted Thompson and the Packers personnel group spent last week in Mobile, Alabama watching and evaluating the 114 prospects who participated in this year’s Senior Bowl. Here’s a roundup of takeaways from the game itself and which prospects helped and hurt themselves the most.
Brent Sobleski has a fantastic overview of Saturday’s game for Bleacher Report.
Money quote on the quarterbacks:
Aside from Davis Webb's MVP performance, the rest of the quarterbacks at the Senior Bowl struggled and only added to the perception this is a poor class.
Even in Webb's case, he played well, but he didn't shine like an early-round quarterback prospect would be expected to.
When Carson Wentz and Derek Carr took the field during their time in Mobile, everyone knew who the top quarterbacks on the field were. There's a different aura around that type of prospect.
This year's quarterbacks were barely passable at times. At other times, they weren't passable, firing more than a handful of poorly thrown balls during the game.

Quarterback Davis Webb was the game’s MVP:
Grambling wide receiver Chad Williams had a strong week:
Another receiver who turned lots of heads was East Carolina’s Zay Jones:
Very smart stuff here on how much of the draft media “buzz” generated off the Senior Bowl should be taken with a grain of salt.
