B.J. Raji story nets APSE first-place honors for Ryan Wood

Competing in Category C with the Green Bay Press-Gazette (30,000 to 75,000 circulation/250,000 to 750,000 unique monthly website visitors), Wood finished first in the Breaking News category for his exclusive story on Packers defensive lineman B.J. Raji’s decision to walk away from the game.

Wood finished second in the Projects category for a series of four stories analyzing year-to-year data that studied trends and issues involving Packers general manager Ted Thompson’s draft decisions. reporter Michael Cohen finished sixth for Features in Category B with the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel (75,000 to 175,000 circulation) for his story about former Packers tight end Jermichael Finley’s adjustment to life after football.

The Press-Gazette received Top 10 recognition in Category C for its daily sports section, and also for its digital and mobile platforms (, and the PackersNews app).
