Lee Roy Caffey
Inducted 1986
Acquired in the Jim Ringo trade with the Philadelphia Eagles in 1964, Lee Roy Caffey became a solid performer at linebacker for six seasons. Over his six seasons, from 1964-’69, the Packers won three straight NFL championships and the first two Super Bowls.
A 6’3”, 250-pound, agile linebacker, Caffey’s blitzes created havoc for many quarterbacks. He intercepted nine passes and returned two for touchdowns including a 52-yard interception return for a touchdown against the Baltimore Colts in 1966. The former Texas A&M running back also recovered four fumbles as a Packer.
