Packers notes: Micah Hyde thankful after making Pro Bowl

GREEN BAY - When safety Micah Hyde left the Green Bay Packers during free agency last spring, many fans were happy to see him leave.

A few months later, the Packers would kill to have Hyde’s versatility and reliability in their leaky secondary.

But Hyde moved on to the Buffalo Bills, where he was named to the Pro Bowl on Tuesday.

“I’m ecstatic,” safeties coach Darren Perry said of his former pupil. “I mean, Micah is a great kid, works hard and again, you can’t keep everybody. You like to keep as many good football players as you can, but with free agency and so forth that’s hard to do. 

"But I’m extremely happy for Micah. He’s a great kid on and off the field and he works hard. I think he is very deserving. He sent me a text yesterday thanking me, and I thought that was just the type of person that he is. I couldn’t be more happier for him.”

Injury report: The Packers returned to practice Wednesday, and little changed on the injury front.

Right guard Jahri Evans (knee) and outside linebackers Clay Matthews (hamstring) and Nick Perry (ankle/shoulder) did not practice.

Their status for Saturday is unclear.

Wide receiver Davante Adams remains in the concussion protocol.
