GREEN BAY - Outside linebacker Nick Perry will open Green Bay Packers training camp on the physically unable to perform list because of an ankle injury, a source said Wednesday.

Perry underwent ankle surgery in the offseason and did not take part in any offseason or mini-camp workouts.

The Packers are typically cautious with players coming off surgery and have started others on PUP in previous years. It’s not known if Perry had a setback or is just following a rehab plan.

The other PUP designation was put on right tackle Bryan Bulaga, according to an ESPN report. Bulaga is coming off ACL surgery in 2017 and wasn’t expected to be ready for practice at the start of training camp.

Both players are eligible to be activated at any time. If they stay on PUP the entire training camp, they are eligible to remain on PUP going into the start of the regular season. They would not count against the 53-man roster, but would have to miss a minimum of six weeks.
