GREEN BAY - The Green Bay Packers placed defensive lineman Muhammad Wilkerson on injured reserve Saturday and elevated cornerback Tony Brown to the active roster from the practice squad.

Brown, an undrafted rookie from Alabama, originally signed to the Packers' practice squad Sept. 3. He spent the offseason and training camp with the Los Angeles Chargers.

The Packers signed defensive lineman Deon Simon to the practice squad, filling Brown’s spot.

Wilkerson suffered a season-ending ankle injury Sunday in Washington when teammate Kentrell Brice rolled into it after missing a tackle. He spent Sunday night in Washington before returning to Green Bay.

Brown’s signing ensures the Packers will enter Sunday’s game against Buffalo with a complete, 53-man roster, something they decided against at times under former general manager Ted Thompson.
