Cobb, Allison, Alexander inactive for Lions game

DETROIT - The Packers will be without two of their top four wide receivers and one of their top three cornerbacks for their division matchup  with the Detroit Lions Sunday at Ford Field.

Receiver Geronimo Allison (concussion/hamstring) worked out before the game, but he was one of the seven inactives, joining fellow receiver Randall Cobb (hamstring), who was declared out on Friday. Allison was listed as questionable.

The Packers will have receiver Davante Adams (calf), however. He was questionable but will start.

Cornerback Jaire Alexander (groin) was a surprise inactive. He practiced on a limited basis during the week, but the medical staff must have been worried about him worsening the injury.

The Packers will get starting cornerback Kevin King back from a groin injury. It's likely either King or rookie Josh Jackson will start with the other in the nickel. Complicating matters is that safety Jermaine Whitehead, who has been playing a safety/cornerback hybrid position is inactive because of a back injury.

It should me safety Josh Jones will see more time, but the Packers will only have three reliable corners and will be really stretched thin if one of the corners gets hurt. Veteran Bashaud Breeland, who was signed two weeks ago, is inactive. He did not have a training camp and the coaches didn't feel he was in football shape yet.

The Packers will have guard Justin McCray (shoulder), but it's unclear if he'll start or just be an emergency option. Byron Bell replaced him last week against Buffalo when he was inactive because of the shoulder.

The Lions will be without former Packer and current starting guard T.J. Lang (concussion). They did not announce an official replacement. Defensive end Ezekiel Ansah and outside linebacker Eli Harold are both inactive also.
