Dates set for Green Bay Packers' extra minicamp, OTA practices

GREEN BAY - The Green Bay Packers are less than a week away from starting their offseason program.
The Packers will report for the start of spring workouts April 8. They had the option to report Monday because teams with new head coaches are allowed an early start, but doing so would have required them to take a week off.
Of the eight teams with new head coaches allowed an early start, four (Denver, Tampa Bay, Miami and Cleveland) start this week. The Packers will join Cincinnati, Arizona and the New York Jets in starting next week.
The Packers are also allowed an extra, voluntary minicamp, which they will conduct April 23-25. Scheduled for the week of the draft, that minicamp will be for veteran/returning players. Their mandatory minicamp will be June 11-13.
Organized team activities will be held May 20-21, May 23, May 28-29, May 31 and June 3-6. It’s unclear which practices, if any, will be open to the public.
