Montgomery: Playoffs 'a different intensity'

Green Bay Packers running back Ty Montgomery co-hosted Monday's Clubhouse Live, USA TODAY NETWORK-Wisconsin’s live weekly football show. Packers rookie wide receiver Geronimo Allison was Montgomery’s guest.
Among the topics they touched on were Sunday's victory over the Giants, the Packers' offensive hot streak and earning a spot on an NFL roster. The show can be seen live at The Clubhouse Sports Pub & Grill in downtown Appleton or at clubhouselive.com.

Q: Was earning that playoff win far more satisfying than any victory you could ever experience in the regular season?
Montgomery: It feels so good. I've actually never been in a playoff setting ever in my life. I've never been in a game where you could go on, but if you lose, you're done. So it's definitely a different intensity to the game, but it's a lot of fun. It's exciting. And the win does feel that much sweeter because there's a lot more at stake.
Q: You've shredded some of the league's top defenses during this seven-game winning streak. How high is the confidence as you look ahead to Sunday's NFC divisional showdown at Dallas?
Montgomery: That's definitely a mindset you want to have, but we're not comfortable. We've got a big challenge ahead of us against Dallas. I think they're the No. 1 (run) defense right now.
Q: You've had quite the journey - and in a short period of time - in going from an undrafted free agent to earning a spot on the Packers' active roster and becoming a key offensive weapon. What do you think about the most during the moments you're able to reflect on what you've been able to do and the impact you've made on the team?
Allison: When I do reflect on the season and my journey, it's when I'm praying and just relaxing at home. Or talking with some of my friends back home or with my mom. I just sit there and am amazed that I'm really living out my dream. Everything has been happening so fast for me that, sometimes it's hard to reflect because I want to continue to just move forward, continue to just be successful. And when I do sit back and look at it, it has been a long road. I just thank God for every opportunity that I get and feel like my story is for me. Anything that He has prepared for me, or anything that I have encountered up to this point is meant for me. It's just a blessing, and I've just got to embrace it and continue and be thankful for it.
