Twins to appear on Packers tickets
GREEN BAY - Twins Desmond and Christian Abel will grace the Green Bay Packers' Fan Appreciation Game tickets in December.
A photo of the 4-year-olds was submitted to the Packers Ticket Takeover Contest by their mother, Staci Abel of Pray, Mont. It was among five finalists voted on by Packers fans across the country. The contest received a record 63,797 votes.
Abel was raised in Wisconsin, but moved to Montana four years ago. The photo shows the twins, wearing Aaron Rodgers and Jordy Nelson jerseys, facing away from the camera, one with his arm around the shoulders of the other.
"I had two little boys who wouldn't stand still for a photo," Abel said. "I was running out of daylight, so I gave up and said we were done. They walked away and when I looked up, I caught this nice moment."
In addition to having the photo on 80,000 tickets for the Christmas Eve game against the Minnesota Vikings at Lambeau Field, the family received tickets to the game and hotel and flight accommodations.
The contest was sponsored by American Family Insurance.
Fans were registered to win a signed Packers jersey every time they voted. The jersey winner was Roger Neitzel of Beloit.
