Packers offensive tackle David Bakhtiari marries Frankie Shebby in outdoor ceremony Saturday in California
David Bakhtiari is a married man.
The Green Bay Packers offensive tackle wed Frankie Shebby on Saturday in an outdoor ceremony somewhere warm, sunny and filled with oodles of white roses.
Bakhtiari shared five photos on Instagram on Sunday with caption that simply read: "3/5/2022."
Shebby also posted one of the same photos of the couple hand-in-hand in a doorway as they greeted guests on her Instagram with the caption: "Mr. and Mrs. Bakhtiari."
The two got engaged in July 2, 2020, when Bakhtiari surprised her with an elaborately planned proposal on a boat as well wishers awaited them back on land. He chronicled it all in a six-minute video complete with a soundtrack that included The Weeknd, Ray LaMontagne and the theme from "Mission: Impossible."
Before the couple had a chance to share the happy wedding news themselves, sports writer Mike Silver tweeted on Saturday morning that it was happening that day in California. "Aaron Rodgers is set to officiate it. Matt LaFleur will be there," he wrote, before getting into speculation about when Rodgers may let the Packers know about his future with the team.
Bakhtiari replied to the tweet in blunt fashion: "Mike... What the actual (expletive)?."
Silver tweeted a couple of hours later that he had talked to Bakhtiari and apologized.
Among those who commented on the wedding photo Shebby posted is Shailene Woodley, who wrote "lets gooooooo!!!"
Multiple reports last month cited unnamed sources who said Woodley and Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers called off their engagement, but comments from Rodgers since have led to questions about whether they may still be together.
"Entertainment Tonight" reported that both Rodgers and Woodley were in attendance at Saturday's wedding, which it says was held at Rosewood Miramar Hotel near Santa Barbara, California.
TMZ Sports posted a brief video from the nuptials that shows Rodgers standing next to Bakhtiari as Shebby walks down the aisle.
