Lyerla out 'couple weeks' with knee injury
Packers coach Mike McCarthy said tight end Colt Lyerla will miss a "couple weeks" due to the knee injury he sustained during the Family Night practice.

McCarthy wouldn't comment on if Lyerla required a scope or any other procedure on the knee. Initial tests performed on the knee Sunday indicated a sprain, but Lyerla's camp still was awaiting MRI results to confirm.
If he misses the team's first two preseason games, it could put Lyerla's chances at making the 53-man roster in jeopardy with four veterans and third-round rookie Richard Rodgers in contention for roster spots.
Lyerla, an undrafted rookie out of Oregon, injured the knee while attempting to vault cornerback Jumal Rolle Saturday night. Off to a slow start in camp, it's hard to fault Lyerla for trying to make a play, but McCarthy wasn't pleased with the timing of it.
Running back Michael Hill also didn't practice after sustaining a concussion Saturday on a hit from rookie linebacker Jake Doughty in the final two-minute drill. McCarthy expects him to be back soon.
Two starters – safety Morgan Burnett and inside linebacker Brad Jones – also dropped out of practice. McCarthy didn't have an update, but Burnett missed one day of practice last week because of an ankle injury.
