Starting safety Morgan Burnett sat out practice Tuesday because of an injured oblique. Burnett missed one practice last week because of an ankle injury.

-- Rookie receiver Jared Abbrederis said he will have knee-reconstruction surgery either late this week or early next week. Doctors usually wait a week to 10 days to perform surgery after an ACL tear so the swelling subsides, which means there will be less swelling and more range of motion after surgery.

-- Inside linebacker Brad Jones was back working full time at inside linebacker after sitting out the second half of practice Monday. It was unclear whether he was injured Monday or not practicing so the coaches could look at other players.
