Burnett to miss preseason opener with oblique injury
Coach Mike McCarthy's list of seven injured players who won't make the trip to Tennessee for the Green Bay Packers' preseason game against the Titans on Saturday includes one starter, safety Morgan Burnett.

Burnett has missed the last two practices because of an injured oblique muscle. The Packers didn't practice Thursday but will Friday.
The other six who won't make the trip to Tennessee are offensive lineman Don Barclay (ACL), receiver Jared Abbrederis (ACL), tight end Colt Lyerla (knee), defensive lineman Letroy Guion (hamstring), defensive lineman Jerel Worthy (back) and safety Tanner Miller (ankle).
McCarthy said he thinks Burnett might back playing next week.
-- McCarthy, on what he's looking for Saturday night's preseason opener: "I want someone to jump out and do exactly what they're supposed to do with the energy and the efficiency that you say, 'Hey, I gotta get ready; I'm gonna have more opportunities.' They're very important for all our younger players to play. I think in the past sometimes I didn't play some guys early enough (in the preseason), so I want to make sure our young players play predominantly the whole fourth quarter."
