Banjo, White return on practice squad

The Green Bay Packers' gamble paid off.

After exposing Chris Banjo to waivers Saturday night, the Packers have used one of their two veteran designations on the practice squad to bring back the second-year safety, who was among the 18 players released during the final roster reduction.

The full practice squad announced by the Packers Sunday:

Banjo, WR Kevin Dorsey, C Garth Gerhart, WR Alex Gillett, RB Michael Hill, LB Adrian Hubbard, TE Justin Perillo, DE Luther Robinson, T Jeremy Vujnovich and WR Myles White.

The list does not include CB Jumal Rolle, but a source told Press-Gazette Media that Packers will sign Rolle to their practice squad on Monday. To do that, they'll have to release someone they signed today.

Banjo, 24, was one of three undrafted free agents to make the Packers' roster last season. He played in all 16 regular-season games and was a fixture on special teams.

White, 24, started last season on the Packers' practice squad before being promoted to the active roster after Randall Cobb broke his leg against Baltimore on Oct. 13.

White had nine catches for 66 yards last season and led the Packers in receiving this preseason with seven catches for 69 yards and a touchdown.

Since White wasn't suited up for nine or more games last season, he's still eligible for the practice squad under the previous perimeters, so the Packers still can sign another player with one or two accrued NFL seasons to their practice squad in addition to Banjo.
