Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy spoke to the media after practice on Thursday. Here are some highlights of his news conference:

Green Bay Packers running back Eddie Lacy runs for yardage during the Aug. 22 preseason game against the Oakland Raiders at Lambeau Field.

Injury report: TE Brandon Bostick (limited participation, fibula); T Bryan Bulaga (limited, knee); ILB Brad Jones (did not practice, quadriceps); RB Eddie Lacy (full, concussion); CB Demetri Goodson (full, concussion).

On Bulaga:

Bryan Bulaga was limited today. He's coming along. The biggest thing is just the movement. I'm not looking for him to take the full team drills. How he feels tomorrow and if he can go on Saturday will be the final test.

On backup tackle Derek Sherrod:

Derek Sherrod needs to play well. He needs to play better than he did in Seattle. The energy today was excellent, Derek included.

On Lacy:

Eddie practiced full. He looked great. He's cleared to practice. He had a normal practice today.

On tight end Brandon Bostick:

He looked better. Needed to get more comfortable in running. Tomorrow will be the big day.

On backup linebackers Jamari Lattimore and Sam Barrington:

Feel good. Jamari has played a ton of football for us. He's an excellent football player. Sam is clearly a much improved player. You look for guys to make that jump.

On uncommon opponents like the Jets:

When you play them this early, we had an offseason study in May as a staff. Our quality control coaches have been working throughout the preseason. The unscouted-look time frame, history will tell you, the first three weeks have 20, 30 percent of the game is unscouted looks.

On the outlook for injured players:

Their medical review is tomorrow. It's sitting down with the doctor.
