Bulaga inactive for Packers; Sherrod to start

Derek Sherrod will get his first NFL start today as the Green Bay Packers decided to make starting right tackle Bryan Bulaga inactive for the home opener against the New York Jets.
Bulaga sustained an MCL injury in the season opener at Seattle. He returned to practice this week in a limited role. Sherrod was the Packers 2011 first-round draft pick but broke his leg in two places during his rookie season.
Starting linebacker Brad Jones also is inactive with a quadriceps injury. He will be replaced in the starting lineup by Jamari Lattimore. Jones was one of four Packers defenders to play every defensive snap against the Seahawks.
Also inactive for the Packers today are quarterback Scott Tolzien, and rookies Demetri Goodson, Carl Bradford, Jeff Janis and Jayrone Elliott.
Active for the first time is rookie defensive lineman Mike Pennel. Tight end Brandon Bostick also is active for the first time this season after recovering from a fibula injury.
Inactive for the Jets are WR Walter Powell, S Josh Bush, LB Ikemefuna Enemkpali, LB A.J. Edds, OL Dakota Dozier, T Ben Ijalana and NT T.J. Barnes.
Also, starting cornerback Dee Milliner, who missed the Jets' opener last week, is active but won't start. He is recovering from an ankle injury. Starting in his place will be Darrin Walls.
