Green Bay Packers veteran cornerback Tramon Williams was active for Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers despite an ankle injury that limited his practice availability last week.

Cornerback Tramon Williams, right, has signed with the Cleveland Browns.

The Packers' other starting cornerback Sam Shields, however, was inactive with a knee injury. He was to be replaced in the starting lineup by Davon House.

Another cornerback, rookie Demetri Goodson, was inactive.

Starting defensive end Datone Jones was inactive with an ankle injury and was to be be replaced by Josh Boyd in the starting lineup.

Other Packers on the inactive list were wide receiver Jeff Janis, center/guard Garth Gerhart, linebacker Carl Bradford and quarterback Scott Tolzien.

Janis' status means receiver Jarret Boykin was active after sitting the past few weeks with a groin injury. He was limited in practice last week and was listed as questionable to play.

Other Packers who missed some practice time this week with injuries but were active Sunday were linebacker Jamari Lattimore (neck), linebacker Sam Barrington (hamstring) and Boyd (knee).

Inactive for the Carolina Panthers were running backs DeAngelo Williams and Fozzy Whittaker, cornerbacks Josh Norman and Bene Benwikere, guard Amini Silatolu, linebacker Chase Blackburn and quarterback Joe Webb.

Silatolu, Williams, Norman and Blackburn are starters. They were to be replaced by Fernando Velasco at guard, Jonathan Stewart at running back, Melvin White at cornerback and Kimberly native A.J. Klein at linebacker.
