Rodgers, Kuhn named first-team All-Pro

Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers and fullback John Kuhn have been selected first-team All-Pro, as determined by a vote of 50 media members of the Associated Press.

Rodgers, who received 44 of 50 first-place votes, was previously honored on the first team in 2011 prior to winning NFL MVP. Only Houston defensive lineman J.J. Watt and New England tight end Rob Gronkowski received all 50 votes albeit at less crowded positions.

It likely bodes well for Rodgers' MVP chances, which is decided by the same collection of voters.

"Those nominations and achievements are great but ultimately at this time of the year, it's about winning championships," Rodgers said. "That's what we're focused on. Anything else is kind of icing on the cake for us."

Rodgers said he was most excited for Kuhn, who garnred 18 first-place votes after being voted to the second team in 2011. The honor comes a week after the 32-year-old fullback was voted to his second Pro Bowl.

There's some argument that maybe another receiver spot should be added to the All-Pro team in lieu of a fullback, a role that's decreased over the past 10 years. Despite being considered a prominent player at the position, Kuhn has only played roughly 17 percent of the offense's snaps this season.

"The fullback position here isn't as traditional as it was back in the 80s," Kuhn said. "We can mix it up and we can do different things. I think you see that around the league in general, but here we have 53 guys who play football. We don't have designated position slots, per say."

Receiver Jordy Nelson and left guard Josh Sitton were voted to the second team at their respective position. Sitton, who was second-team All-Pro last season, finished two votes behind Dallas guard Zach Martin for one of two first-team spots at guard.

Nelson finished third at receiver with 15 votes.

Others receiving votes for the Packers included: tackle Bryan Bulaga (1), center Corey Linsley (1), Clay Matthews (five outside linebacker, one inside).
