McCarthy brother's funeral set for Monday

Funeral services for Joe McCarthy, the younger brother of Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy, will be Monday near Pittsburgh.

Joe McCarthy, 47, of Pine Township, Pa., died Wednesday. He was an attorney in private practice and a former state deputy attorney general. He also was an adjunct professor at the Community College of Allegheny County's Allegheny Campus in Monroeville, Pa., and was a longtime youth sports coach.

He is survived by his wife Karen, two sons and a daughter, along with his parents, his brother and three sisters.

Visitation will be 1-3 p.m. and 6-8 p.m. Saturday and 2-5 p.m. Sunday at Devlin Funeral Home in Cranberry Township, Pa. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Hope Lutheran Church in Cranberry Township.

Mike McCarthy's season-ending press conference, which had been scheduled for Wednesday at Lambeau Field, was postponed indefinitely in the wake of his brother's death.
