Favre induction ceremony tickets sold out

Tickets will not be made available to the public for Brett Favre's induction ceremony into the Green Bay Packers Hall of Fame this summer.

The Packers announced Saturday morning that banquet, scheduled for July 18, is sold out due to a high interest from sponsors and supporters.

"Each year, no matter who is inducted, we first go to the people and companies who have supported us throughout the years to determine their interest in the banquet," Packers Hall of Fame President Perry Kidder said in a statement. "We were delighted with the positive response this year and how quickly the sponsorships, tickets and tables sold out. In addition to our longtime supporters, we will host a record number of returning Hall of Famers and their guests, plus expected NFL dignitaries."

Traditionally, a select amount of tickets have been available for the public to purchase. Approximately 1,600 people are expected for this year's event. Those unable to attend the event can watch it on television through Packers' affiliates.

"We know some fans will be disappointed that they won't be able to purchase tickets to the banquet," Kidder said. "But, the good news is that, for the first time ever, the event will be recorded and broadcast the next day on WTMJ-TV (Milwaukee), WGBA-TV (Green Bay) and the Packers TV Network affiliates.We want to thank our media partner, Journal Broadcast Group, for helping make that happen.It's a great way for Packers fans to share in the experience. "

It's expected the Packers will unveil Favre's retired No. 4 at 2015 home game.
