Lee Gissendaner left the Packers' scouting staff recently to become a national college scout for the New York Jets, a source confirmed.
ESPN.com first reported today that Gissendaner left the Packers shortly after this year's NFL draft.
Gissendaner, 43, had been an area scout with the Packers since 2001, and for the three years before that was the team's representative with the National Scouting Service.
Gissendaner joins the staff of Mike Maccagnan, who was named the Jets' new general manager in January.
The Packers have seven full-time members on their college scouting staff after Gissendaner's departure. It's unclear how or whether GM Ted Thompson will replace him.
