Montgomery drops out of practice

The Green Bay Packers began Thursday’s padded practice with everyone but receiver Jared Abbrederis suited up inside the Hutson Center.
Before the portion open to the media was over, however, receiver Ty Montgomery dropped out. The rookie third-round pick has missed the last month with a sprained ankle, but had been listed as a full participant during Wednesday’s practice.
The Packers could be light at receiver this Sunday against Minnesota if Montgomery aggravated the injury. They’re already without Abbrederis, who’s expected to miss several weeks because of a rib injury he suffered in Sunday’s 18-16 loss to Detroit.
Right tackle Bryan Bulaga (knee) and right guard T.J. Lang (shoulder) returned to practice after sitting out Wednesday. Left tackle David Bakhtiari (knee) and left guard Josh Sitton (knee) were also participating after being limited.
Quarterback Aaron Rodgers (right shoulder) seemed to be taking his usual reps without any signs of discomfort in his throwing motion. Packers coach Mike McCarthy said before practice that he has no concern about Rodgers’ availability to play against the Vikings.
Defensive back Micah Hyde (hip) was in pads, but worked off to the side individually. The full injury report will be released later this afternoon.
