DETROIT - The right side of the Green Bay Packers' offensive line will be occupied by backups Thursday night against the Detroit Lions.
Right tackle Bryan Bulaga and right guard T.J. Lang are inactive. Both were listed as questionable on the team's injury report Wednesday. Tackle Don Barclay and guard Lane Taylor are most likely to start in their place.
The Packers' offensive line isn't the only area hit by injuries. Rookie cornerback Damarious Randall and receiver Ty Montgomery are also inactive. Both were listed as questionable Wednesday. It's the sixth straight game Montgomery has missed. Randall was a full participant in the Packers' practice Monday, but he was limited Wednesday.
Still, the biggest surprise is the Packers' offensive line. Bulaga's and Lang's absences comes at the end of the most grueling stretch on the Packers' schedule. This will be their third game in the past 12 days, all against divisional opponents.
The Packers' offensive line will have centers Corey Linsley and J.C. Tretter, who were listed as questionable. It'll be interesting to see who starts between the two. Tretter has played well in almost two complete games while Linsley has nursed a sprained ankle, but he was also dealing with a sprained ankle this week.
It's unknown how the loss of Bulaga and Lang will affect the Packers' run game. The Packers have gotten running back Eddie Lacy on track in their past two games, and that will once again be important against the Lions. They lost at home to the Lions Nov. 15 with quarterback Aaron Rodgers throwing a career-high 61 passes. Still, it might be difficult to have a heavy dose of the run game with two starting offensive linemen on the sideline.
Here is the Packers' full inactive list for Thursday night's game in Detroit:
7 QB Brett Hundley
22 FB Aaron Ripkowski
23 CB Damarious Randall
55 LB Andy Mulumba
70 G T.J. Lang
75 T Bryan Bulaga
88 WR Ty Montgomery
