Green Bay Packers tackle David Bakhtiari (69) grabs his helmet after getting injured in the fourth quarter against Oakland Raiders at the O.co Coliseum.

Five players were missing when the Green Bay Packers returned to practice on Wednesday afternoon.

Left tackle David Bakhtiari (ankle), cornerback Sam Shields (concussion), defensive linemen Mike Daniels (hamstring) and Letroy Guion (foot), and outside linebacker Jayrone Elliott (quad) all sat out of practice conducted inside the Don Hutson Center.

Packers coach Mike McCarthy said on Wednesday morning that Shields has returned to meetings, but remains in the concussion protocol. He also held out hope left tackle David Bakhtiari might be able to do something given the team’s toned-down practice. Don Barclay took reps with the starting offensive line in Bakhtiari’s place.

JC Tretter practiced after getting banged up near the end of Sunday’s 30-20 win over Oakland, along with Corey Linsley (ankle). Daniels, Guion and Elliott did some light conditioning work during the portion of practice open to the media.

New long-snapper Rick Lovato was also practicing a day after he was signed to replace veteran Brett Goode, who was placed on injured reserve Tuesday with a torn anterior cruciate ligament.

The Packers will submit their full injury report later on Wednesday afternoon.
