Shields, Bakhtiari still out

The Green Bay Packers were again without left tackle David Bakhtiari and cornerback Sam Shields during Thursday’s practice.
Bakhtiari (ankle) took his jersey off when the practice was opened to the media, so it’s possible he was able to do some pre-practice work. He performed some conditioning exercises the remainder of availability. Josh Sitton, who’ll return to left guard Sunday, is back in his usual practice routine of sitting out of practice to rest a nagging back injury.
Packers coach Mike McCarthy said Thursday morning that the team will take the whole week to determine the availability of Bakhtiari for Sunday’s wild-card game against Washington.
Shields, now in the fourth week of the concussion protocol, hasn’t attended either of the Packers’ practices this week. He returned in a limited capacity last week, but evidently had some type of setback in his recovery. Shields’ absence would be significant against Washington’s speedy receiving threats.
Defensive end Datone Jones (neck) and outside linebacker (Jayrone Elliott) attended practice, but didn’t participate. McCarthy didn’t have an update on Jones’ condition because the former first-round pick was “out of town,” an indication he may have been consulting a specialist.
Tight end Justin Perillo (hamstring) returned to practice after missing the last two games. The Packers practiced in shells after having 17 players on their injury report Wednesday.
Thursday's full injury report will be released sometime Thursday afternoon.
