The Green Bay Packers will likely have rookie cornerbacks starting on the perimeter when they travel to Washington for their NFC wild-card playoff game Sunday.

Sam Shields, the team’s top cornerback, was listed as doubtful on Friday’s injury report. Shields has not played since his concussion Dec. 13 against the Dallas Cowboys. He practiced in a limited capacity last week but never passed the league-mandated concussion protocol.

His absence from practice this week indicates he had a setback.

“I think when you’re talking about a concussion,” coach Mike McCarthy said Friday morning, “it’s obviously different than other injuries. You don’t just get to 70, 80, 90 percent. Every one of these is different, every player’s different. Until he comes through the protocol, it’s just where we are.”

Left tackle David Bakhtiari was the only starter listed as questionable on the Packers injury report. Bakhtiari has missed the past two games with a sprained ankle. He was listed as questionable last week before being inactive against the Minnesota Vikings.

Bakhtiari said Friday his availability will be a gameday decision. McCarthy said he expects his left tackle to practice some Saturday, just as he did Thursday.

The Packers had 18 players on their injury report, and 13 were listed as probable. Outside linebacker Jayrone Elliott (quadriceps), defensive end Datone Jones (neck) and tight end Justin Perillo (hamstring) were the only other players listed as questionable.
