The Green Bay Packers announced they released defensive end Ray Drew on Monday, a street free agent they signed only 42 days ago.

Packers general manager Ted Thompson speaks to the media at Lambeau Field.

Drew was released one week after the Packers opened their offseason program. He split last season between the Miami Dolphins and Cleveland Browns practice squads before the Packers signed him March 14.

Drew was undrafted out of Georgia last year.

The Packers roster is down to 62 players after Drew was released. General manager Ted Thompson has nine picks in this week's draft, which would leave the Packers 19 players short of their 90-player maximum.
